Arts|Learning Advocacy Awards
Since 1984 Arts|Learning's Networking and Advocacy Group (formerly the Massachusetts Alliance for Arts Education) has recognized individuals, organizations, institutions and businesses that exemplify excellence in arts education advocacy.
Awards are given in the following categories:
- Distinguished Arts Educator Advocate
- Excellence in School Administration Arts Advocate
- Outstanding Parent Advocate
- Outstanding Community Arts Collaborative
- Corporate/Business Support of Arts Education
- Outstanding Student Advocate
The state winners of the following two awards are eligible to compete for national recognition by the Kennedy Center including the National Schools of Distinction in Arts Education and the National School Board Association Awards.
The following two awards are determined by the MAEC Leadership Team.
- Irene Buck Service to Arts Education
- Legislative Leadership
For the 2008 and 2009 awards ceremony, Arts|Learning partnered with the Hunt Alternatives Fund to offer the Outstanding Student Advocate Award and Municipal Arts Leadership awards.
